Regarding Larimar: A rare turquoise-blue gemstone from the Domican Republic; the variety is called pectolite. Discovered in 1916 and only marketed and became known in 1974. The Los Chupaderos mine became known as the origin of the Larimar. The name Larimar comes from the explorer Miguel Méndez, who chose a neologism from his daughter Larisse's first name and the sea (Mare). Larimar is rarely produced above a certain size (from 10 mm) and with little white color content. Larimar is said to have a calming effect, providing inner balance and peace, an Atlantis gemstone!
