very high quality made moonstone brilliant pendant, made in our traditional Italian goldsmith in Valenza, solid handmade in 750 rose gold, a transparent very fine moonstone from Madagascar with exciting color change from gold shimmer to rainbow approx. 6.59 ct, AAA+, approx. 15 x 12.5 mm in size, approx. 11.2 grams in weight, oval eyelet 5 x 3 mm inner diameter, moonstone in halo style surrounded by grey full-cut diamonds total approx. 0.43 ct, perfect for this our oval anchor chain in black rhodium-plated rose gold with extension rings in rose gold, non-slip high-quality lobster clasp, approx. 55 cm long, dimensions of the pendant approx. 28 x 18 x 8 mm, new moonstone deposit (discovered for my customers at the largest gemstone fair in Hong Kong in 2025)
About the moonstone: The moonstone got its name because it is probably reminiscent of the surface of the moon with its iridescent shimmer. The special effect that one thinks the moonstone has a light source from the inside is called adularescence by gemologists. This is caused by the content of the tiniest inclusions of a wide variety of metals and chemical compounds, which cause a wide variety of refractive indices. Incident rays create the impression of colors and light. A new moonstone deposit from Madagascar may only bring out special transparent moonstones with a never-before-seen play of color and maybe only for a short time.
