History of Tahitian Cultured Pearls: The islands of French Polynesia are the source of the Tahitian cultured pearls for this wonderful strand of Tahitian cultured pearls. The pearls are created in the "Te ufi" as the black-lipped pearl mussel "Pinctada margaritifera cumingii" is called in Polynesia.
